Grumpy the Gator

In Grumpy the Gator, a group of children playing encounter a grumpy alligator. The story teaches children to always keep a safe distance from animals in the wild, and to find an adult if they see an alligator.

Talking to my pink umbrella….

IMG_20170426_132802
Rain has poured downย for many days. Rain and wind. The saying “April showers bring May flowers” may be true.
The sound of the letter carrier’s truck alerted me to mail being delivered.ย Putting on my rain jacket and grabbing my cute pink umbrella, I headed for the cluster mailbox. As I opened the front door, a gust of wind almost blew me back into the house. WOW!! What a day!
Knowing wind and umbrellas don’t really go together, I decided to be brave and “chance it” by positioning my cute pink umbrella so the wind would not rip it apart.
Well… so much for that idea! The wind whipped around me and my cute pink umbrella and turned us around in mid step. Whoosh!
I found myself talking to the umbrella. “No, no, no you don’t. Don’t flip backwards and poke me. Stay strong cute pink umbrella! I don’t want to have to buy another one. This wind will not get the best of us.”
Looking around, I wondered if anyone heard me talking to my umbrella. No one was outside. Just me, the wind and my cute pink umbrella. I don’t mind if someone heard me talking. My neighbors know I talk to myself and yes, I even answer myself. Although in all the wind no one could hear me anyway. ๐Ÿ™‚
Just me and my cute pink umbrella and our little conversation. Yes, the wind cooperated with us and the umbrella is safe. ๐Ÿ™‚
That umbrella protected me from rain and wind just as God protects us from storms in life. Do you have an umbrella? Do you carry it outside in the wind?
Have a blessed day,
Mimi

I have a huge, heavy-duty umbrella, Mimi. Walking downtown between the high-rise building creates a major wind tunnel. Although it’s pretty, I’m afraid your little pink umbrella wouldn’t cut it. ๐Ÿ™‚

I can just picture you walking through the wind tunnel and holding on to your heavy-duty umbrella. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for reading my blog and commenting. ๐Ÿ™‚

LOL Love it! I usually talk back to the TV or, worse, my computer! Have you seen those umbrellas advertised on TV? They work backwards and the wind can’t turn them inside out. Thinking of getting one. Thanks for today’s giggle. ๐Ÿ˜€

I also talk to (and answer) myself. It makes for such enjoyable conversation. Wouldn’t have it any other way. ๐Ÿ™‚

What a beautiful umbrella, Melissa! I really like the cheerful color. We had a crazy-windy day on Saturday, when we were trying to have my dd’s band’s car show. One poor food vendor had his cupcakes blown clear across the parking lot before he finally gave up and went home.
I look forward to reading your future book! I’m working on a gothic novel and plan to go to my first writers’ conference this summer. May God bless your efforts, and I hope you’ll visit my blog at http://www.sweetgumlife.com. I truly need followers but haven’t figured out how to get a Follow button on there.

That is a cute umbrella, Melissa, I’m glad it survived!
I gave up on umbrellas years ago, I get drenched either way. I figure, if I’m going to get wet anyway, why fight the wind’s attack on the umbrella?
I talk to myself all the time, too. My kids used to say that they didn’t know if I was talking to them or myself. Lots of times they answered me when I was musing out loud!
    Blessings~

Robbie, I just walked outside and rain is drizzling. I took my pink umbrella and laughed out loud while walking. ๐Ÿ™‚

That’s a beautiful color. I love umbrellas. Growing up along the equator, I always needed one for both the sun and rain ๐Ÿ˜
